Ad Law & Stealth-Marketing Check Kit is a vibe coding kit for Claude Code and Codex. Checks articles and LPs for "No.1," "free" and stealth-ad claims before publishing. It includes 7 fixes for pitfalls the maker hit in real work. Free.

When this helps

You want to check copy before it goes live, but reading every No.1, free and stealth-ad claim by hand takes forever

What it does

Checks site folders or draft files (Markdown, text, Word, or pasted text) for claims needing evidence or conditions — "No.1," "limited time," "free," "guaranteed" — undisclosed affiliate ads (stealth marketing), and inconsistent wording. It produces an annotated proof page with numbered markers, plus a spreadsheet of flagged items with a column for your fix. It skips code, admin screens, and drafts, and reports what it skipped. It never decides what counts as evidence or which wording to use — it always asks. For "regular price" claims, it counts the selling period you give against the guideline. It can suggest fixes, but using them is your call.

The fixes baked into this kit

  1. "¥98,000" was flagged as freeThe trailing "0" in a price like 98,000 was being read as "0 yen" (free). Trailing digits inside a longer number are no longer counted.
  2. Most "free" flags were free consultations and quotesA free consultation, quote or briefing isn't a hidden-condition "free" claim. These are now excluded — on one landing page, 38 flags dropped to 4.
  3. It was reading text inside admin screensIt had been reading pages like a reservation list that customers never see. Folders named admin, dashboard, etc. are no longer entered.
  4. Working notes made up most of the flagsFiles like NOTE.md and BRIEF.md were being read as article copy. Markdown files on a site are now only read from folders meant for articles.
  5. Disclaimers were flagged as absolute claimsLines like "We do not claim it is 'absolutely' safe" were flagged as absolute claims. Disclaimers like this are no longer flagged.
  6. "Usually 2 business days" was flagged as a price comparisonIt was reacting to the word "usually" alone. It's now only flagged when a price follows.
  7. Ingredient claims like "100%" were flagged as absolutePhrasing like "100% fruit juice" or "100% domestic" was being flagged as an absolute claim. Ingredient, material and origin claims of 100% are no longer flagged.

What's inside

  • The flow (review → flag issues → ask for evidence → draft fixes → apply → re-check)
  • Tools that find items needing fixes (✗) and items to double-check (△)
  • An annotated proof page with numbered markers on the original text
  • A flagged-item spreadsheet (Excel) with a column for your corrected wording
  • AI-drafted fixes shown as "original → draft → reason"
  • Tools that apply approved fixes to the spreadsheet or a copy of the draft
  • A tool that checks whether a "regular price" comparison meets the guideline
  • A tool that shows wording inconsistencies so you can pick the standard

The first three decisions

  1. What to check (a site folder, draft files, or pasted text)
  2. What kind of copy it is (your own site, a blog post, a client's site, etc.)
  3. Whether there's a house style (e.g. standardize on "Contact us")

What you need

  • No extra costClaude Code or CodexBoth CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md are included; this AI drafts the fixes.
  • No extra costNode.js 18 or laterOnly used to run the tools. Nothing else needs installing.
  • No extra costExcel or NumbersUsed to view the flagged-item spreadsheet and the house-style list.

How to use

Just paste this into your AI.

I want to use the nice to have kit "Ad Law & Stealth-Marketing Check Kit". Follow https://nicetohave.app/en/g/4DSMBUXW-•••••••••• and set it up.

Works the same in Claude Code or Codex.
Read what this tells your AI to do, before you paste it

If you would rather take the files yourself

Paste the line above and your AI fetches it. If your AI cannot fetch it, or you would rather download it yourself, start here.

Download the kit as a zip

  1. Unpack the zip you downloaded
  2. Open the resulting folder in Claude Code or Codex (in VS Code, "Open Folder")
  3. Type "start building with this kit". The instructions are inside (Claude Code reads CLAUDE.md, Codex reads AGENTS.md)

FAQ

Will it tell me whether something is illegal?
No. Both the ✗ and △ marks only point to things worth checking — they don't rule on legality. For anything you're unsure about, check with a consumer affairs hotline or a specialist.
Can it check a WordPress site?
Articles and pages stored in a database can't be read from the folder — only the template text can. You'll need to paste in the article body yourself.
Can it catch text like "No.1" inside a banner image?
No, it can't read text inside images. Paste the text in and it will check it.
How does it decide if a "regular price" comparison is okay?
Give it the period the item was sold at that price and the date the sale started; it counts whether that meets the guideline (more than half of 8 weeks, or at least 2 weeks). It doesn't say whether it's fine — that's your call.
Does it cover regulations for medicine, cosmetics or health foods?
No. This kit only covers the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations and stealth-marketing rules, not drug/cosmetics-specific regulations.
