Job Posting Kit is a vibe coding kit for Claude Code and Codex. Turn an intake interview into a law-compliant job posting. It includes 8 fixes for pitfalls the maker hit in real work. Free.
When this helps
You want to post a job, but required disclosures get missed and pay quietly falls below minimum wage
What it does
Tell it the job's duties, location, hours, days off, pay, allowances, probation and insurance, and it builds a job posting with everything Japanese law requires employers to state, including the "scope of change" item added in April 2024. It also produces a short version sized to each listing site's character limits and the content to copy into Hello Work's application form. Hand it an existing job ad and it checks for missing disclosures, the three required statements for fixed overtime pay, probation-period conditions, minimum wage by prefecture with effective dates, age and gender wording, and misleading phrases. Pay and hours figures come only from numbers you give it — the AI never suggests a market rate or fills in gaps. A ledger keeps a record of where each posting went out and when conditions changed.
The fixes baked into this kit
- Wrongly flagged "Fixed overtime pay: none" sample listings as missing the required wordingHello Work's sample listing marks a field "Fixed overtime pay: none" when there isn't any, but the kit still checked it against the three required statements for fixed overtime pay. Fixed to skip fields marked "none."
- Didn't count "Relocation: none" toward the required scope-of-change statement for the workplaceEven when a listing stated there would be no relocation, the kit separately flagged the workplace's scope of change as missing. Fixed so "Relocation: none" counts toward it, leaving only the duties' scope of change to flag.
- Flagged phrases like "commission-based" and pay-free "you can earn!" in real listings by mistakeTested against 7 public restaurant job listings. The kit was flagging the word "commission-based" in privacy-policy text and vague phrases like "you can earn!" with no figure attached as misleading pay claims. Fixed to recognize and skip these.
- Missed listings still showing an hourly wage below the newly raised minimum wageMinimum wage rises partway through the year by prefecture. The kit now checks against a table with effective dates, and flags listings even when pay will fall short of a rate that hasn't taken effect yet.
- Misread "fixed overtime pay: ¥30,000" as ¥3, missing fixed overtime pay entirelyThe kit failed to parse the Japanese character for "10,000" and also missed phrasing like "equivalent to 20 hours of overtime" as describing fixed overtime pay. Fixed the number parsing and the wording it recognizes.
- Checked minimum wage against the company's head-office prefecture instead of the workplace'sWhen the workplace was in a different prefecture from the head office, the kit compared pay to the wrong region's minimum wage. Fixed to use the workplace's prefecture, without mistaking "Kyoto" embedded inside a different place name for Kyoto prefecture.
- Internal notes (listing fees, why a predecessor left) ended up in the public job postingThere was no separate field for internal-only notes, so anything written under "other" could leak into the public-facing posting. Added a dedicated internal-notes field that never appears in what gets published.
- Couldn't recognize "Decided based on performance" as a valid renewal criterionTested against a Hello Work sample listing from the Kanagawa labor bureau that phrased the fixed-term renewal criterion unusually. Fixed to recognize Hello Work's own phrasing for renewal criteria.
What's inside
- The flow (intake → job posting → review → post → ledger)
- A full job posting covering every item Japanese law requires
- A short version sized to each listing site, plus content to copy into Hello Work's form
- A tool that reviews existing job ads (missing items, fixed overtime pay, minimum wage, misleading wording, etc.)
- A ledger (Excel) recording where postings went out and what changed
- A sample run with a fictional restaurant, so you can try it first
- A filter that ignores AI-directed instructions hidden in text, including hidden text on web pages

The first three decisions
- Company name and location, starting with the prefecture (used to check minimum wage)
- Your smoking policy (e.g. no smoking indoors)
- Where you'll post it and the character limits (Hello Work, job sites, etc.)
What you need
- No extra costNode.js 18 or newerUsed to run the tools. Nothing else needs to be installed.
- No extra costA browser and Excel (or Numbers)Used to view the job posting, results page and ledger.
How to use
Just paste this into your AI.

If you would rather take the files yourself
Paste the line above and your AI fetches it. If your AI cannot fetch it, or you would rather download it yourself, start here.
- Unpack the zip you downloaded
- Open the resulting folder in Claude Code or Codex (in VS Code, "Open Folder")
- Type "start building with this kit". The instructions are inside (Claude Code reads

FAQ
- Does the kit also check industry-specific minimum wages?
- No, it only checks the prefecture's regional minimum wage. Some industries, such as manufacturing, auto retail and department stores, have their own higher minimum wage, so the results page adds a reminder to check Japan's industry-wage list if it might apply.
- Will the kit post the job to a job site or Hello Work for me?
- No. It builds the job posting and short versions, but you enter them into the job site or Hello Work yourself. Once you've posted it, tell the kit and it records where and when in the ledger.
- If pay is below minimum wage, will the kit say it's illegal?
- It won't state that outright. It tells you the pay appears to fall below minimum wage and leaves the decision to raise it to you. For a final legal judgment, it points you to a labor bureau or certified labor consultant.
- Can deleted records be recovered?
- Before deleting, the kit shows what will be removed and asks for confirmation once. Since records for an open listing must be kept until hiring is complete, it recommends marking it "filled" first. Earlier versions are kept as backups.
- Can it build listings with age or gender conditions?
- Yes, but the kit doesn't decide whether an exception applies. If you state a condition, it shows you the list of legal exceptions, and your company decides whether it applies and why. Without a stated condition, it's written as open to anyone.
