Press Release Kit

From what you want to announce, builds a press release and email you can send

How to use
Example output from Press Release Kit

Press Release Kit is a vibe coding kit for Claude Code and Codex. From what you want to announce, builds a press release and email you can send. It includes 8 fixes for pitfalls the maker hit in real work. Free.

When this helps

You want to send a press release, but unsupported claims and embargo leaks can turn it into a real incident

What it does

Tell it what you want to announce, and it drafts a press release (headline, lead, body, product details, company profile, contact, embargo date) and a pitch email. Before sending, it checks evidence behind claims like "No.1" or "industry-first", food-benefit wording, compared prices, prize limits, rights to photos/logos/other companies' names, consent for names and photos, and leaks before the embargo — flagging required fixes and points to double-check. It builds a media list and BCC recipient list, and logs when items were checked internally, sent, embargoed, and covered. It can also review existing drafts and photos (read-only). Whether something is legally compliant is for you to decide, not the AI.

The fixes baked into this kit

  1. Listed a new product's price as "regular price → launch discount"A price with no sales history can't be used as a comparison price, so the kit flags it. If you want to compare against a future price, it checks whether you plan to keep selling at that price for at least two weeks.
  2. Scheduled a social post before the embargo liftedYou enter when posts go out on your site or social media, and the kit flags it if that's before the embargo date and time.
  3. Wrote "industry-first" or "No.1" with no evidenceWithout evidence (when, scope, who checked), it's flagged. With evidence, it adds a footnote automatically. "No.1" claims are checked against the four criteria from a Consumer Affairs Agency report.
  4. Wrote "relieves constipation" or "boosts immunity" for a food productNaming a disease plus "cures/prevents/improves" is flagged for a fix; wording like "supports bodily functions" or endorsements are flagged to double-check, based on official guidance examples.
  5. A free giveaway exceeded the legal cap (one-fifth of the purchase price)The kit calculates the prize cap for the giveaway type (general, joint, or blanket giveaway) and flags it if exceeded.
  6. Was about to list journalists in the To field instead of BCCIt builds a BCC-only recipient list kept internal, and adds "sent via BCC" to the pitch email body.
  7. Photo still had location data attached before sendingThe copy prepared for sending strips location data but keeps orientation data, since removing orientation too makes portrait photos appear sideways.
  8. Could still share a review copy with a partner while internal wording remained in the draftBefore placing a review copy, it rereads the body and withholds the copy — with a notice — if internal wording or instruction-like text remains.

What's inside

  • The flow (ask → draft → revise → get it checked → prepare to send → send → embargo/coverage)
  • A tool that checks claims, benefit wording, compared prices, prize limits, photo rights and embargo leaks, flagging fixes and things to double-check
  • A media contact list (Excel) and a tool that builds your BCC recipient list
  • A ledger that logs when releases were sent, embargoed and covered
  • A tool that creates a review copy for partners or anyone named in the release
  • Checks for existing drafts and photos (hidden edits in Word/PDF/HTML, photo location data)
  • Sourced rules based on Japan's laws on labeling, pharmaceuticals, health claims and personal data
  • A sample run with a fictional bakery company (3 sample releases)

The first three decisions

  1. What you're announcing (new product, store opening, partnership, etc.)
  2. Announcement date and embargo date/time (if any)
  3. Price and the date sales start

What you need

  • No extra costClaude Code or CodexBoth CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md are included.
  • No extra costNode.js 18 or newerNeeded to run the tools. Nothing else to install.
  • No extra costChrome or Edge (if available)Used to generate the press release PDF. Without it, you can save the print page as a PDF instead.
  • No extra costWord, Excel, a browser and emailTo view documents, ledgers and the results page. You send email yourself.

How to use

Just paste this into your AI.

I want to use the nice to have kit "Press Release Kit". Follow https://nicetohave.app/en/g/5SWRPLJV-•••••••••• and set it up.

Works the same in Claude Code or Codex.
Read what this tells your AI to do, before you paste it

If you would rather take the files yourself

Paste the line above and your AI fetches it. If your AI cannot fetch it, or you would rather download it yourself, start here.

Download the kit as a zip

  1. Unpack the zip you downloaded
  2. Open the resulting folder in Claude Code or Codex (in VS Code, "Open Folder")
  3. Type "start building with this kit". The instructions are inside (Claude Code reads CLAUDE.md, Codex reads AGENTS.md)

FAQ

Does the kit send the email to journalists itself?
No. You send it yourself, from your own email. The kit prepares the BCC recipient list and the subject/body — it never sends email or forwards anything to a distribution service.
What do I need to provide to write "industry-first" or "No.1"?
You'll be asked when, in what scope, and who checked it. For "No.1" claims, you're also asked who you compared against, who was surveyed (actual users or not), how, and when — and if you provide evidence, a footnote is added automatically.
Anything to watch for with the media contact list in Excel?
A CSV saved as Shift-JIS will show garbled text, so resave it as UTF-8. Hidden sheets or cell comments aren't imported, and instruction-like text in them is flagged.
Can a sent press release accidentally get deleted?
Sent releases are never deleted automatically, since you may need them if a journalist asks a question or wants evidence. Saying "delete it" prompts a suggestion to mark it "withdrawn" and keep it instead.
Will it tell me clearly whether something is illegal?
No. It only tells you what needs fixing and what to double-check, and why. Deciding whether something is actually illegal is left to you or to a lawyer / the Consumer Affairs Agency.
